Olympic Closing Ceremony Performers: Most Disappointing Performances from London

The closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London were nothing short of epic. Entitled “A Symphony of British Music," it featured tons of acts from Great Britain—some classic and famous, others new and emerging—all organized by Kim Gavin.
Overall, the show was extremely enjoyable and featured plenty of awesome acts in a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle at the Olympic Stadium.
However, a few of the performances were duds or just plain weird, so let’s take a look at those that bummed us out.
Brand is usually a great source of comedy, but his cover of “I Am the Walrus” by the Beatles was just ridiculous.
It was supposed to be a tribute to the strange, psychedelic era in British music, but it just turned out to be a failure. Another Beatles song certainly should have been chosen.
It’s a shame someone as consistently funny as Brand was reduced to this awful cover.
The Pet Shop Boys are a questionable selection to kick the best part of the ceremony off, and they did it in a strange way. The gentlemen rode out on bizarre bicycles and performed “West End Girls” before being replaced by One Direction.
With all of the historically wonderful acts in Great Britain's illustrious history, they could have done better than Pet Shop Boys.
This one was most disappointing because it seemed that we would actually see a performance by the legendary rock star.
There was a fashion-show type performance going on, and many famous models, including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, had giant photos displayed alongside of Bowie.
The models showed up on stage in real life (which was definitely awesome), but the man once known as Ziggy Stardust never appeared.
That was a cruel move and disappointed Bowie fans all over the globe.
